Open Call for Applications: Little School of Contemporary Dance 2027

Tiramola Dance Association is launching an open call for applications to participate in the Little School of Contemporary Dance programme in 2027.

We invite all interested artists, arts organisations, dance collectives and independent creators to submit their original projects, performances, dance films and video works, educational programmes, work-in-progress pieces, and workshops focusing on contemporary performance forms (contemporary dance, physical theatre, performance art, dance film, and hybrid and media-based stage practices) to be presented throughout 2027.

Application Categories for the 2027 Season:

1. Touring Package (Performance + Workshop): Performances are preferably accompanied by a complementary workshop linked thematically to the performance material, the work’s aesthetic approach, or the inspiration behind its creation.

2. Dance Films and Film/Media Workshops: Completed dance films and video works may be submitted for screening, followed by a discussion or workshop. Applications are also welcome for workshops that guide participants through a creative process culminating in the production of similar performance-based works.

3. Applications for Work-in-Progress Formats: Works in development are also welcome. Applicants are encouraged to further explore and develop a particular aspect of the performance or stage material through a workshop format with participants.

Final Presentation: Selected work-in-progress projects must conclude with a public performance, screening or presentation for an audience at the end of the programme.

Thematic Focus: Submitted programmes must fall within the field of contemporary performance forms, including contemporary dance, physical theatre, performance art, dance film, and hybrid and media-based stage practices.

Note on Performance Programme Formats (Duration): Applications are welcome for programmes falling into the following categories:

Full-Length Formats

Short Formats (short performances, solo works, short dance films, and other short-form stage works suited to flexible and alternative spaces)

Who Can Apply:

Independent artists, choreographers, directors, performance and video artists, educators, arts organisations, associations, collectives and informal initiatives active in the fields of performing, interdisciplinary and audiovisual arts.
